Comments 101

Many of you have tried to write a comment to Megann and not been successful. So, Megann and I decided that a tutorial session was in order (she reads the comments faithfully and appreciates each one of them). Follow these steps, and you should be able to leave your comment.
  • Just below the update, click on comments. You should go to a new window and be able to read all of her comments.
  • On the right hand side, you should see a big white box. Write a comment in that box.
  • Below the box are different identities. Here is a description of each identity:
  1. Blogger--this is for people that have their own blogs. You do not have to have your own blog to leave a comment.
  2. Other--You can use this if you don't have a blog and just enter your name and leave the website part blank. It will show the name you entered at the top of your comment.
  3. Anonymous--You could also use anonymous to enter your comment. In this case, you will have to type your name at the end of your comment.
  • IMPORTANT: In order for the comment to get onto her site, you must type the words in the box that says "word verification" just as they appear above the box (usually in color). The reason for this is so that "junk comments" can't appear on her blog. If you hit the "publish your comment" then you still see your comment in the box, that means you did not type in the word verification part correctly. Just retype the word and try again.
  • Hit Publish Your Comment

Megann had her first round of chemotherapy. She is feeling ok and is trying to keep down lots of water. She still appreciates all of your encouragement financially, prayerfully, and through the comments left on this blog. We need to pray continually over the next few months while she is taking these treatments for her stamina and for the chemo to work!

I feel the power that God has in store through your story. It is an amazing thing to see and read and feel this happening. "that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." Philippians 2: 10-11 May God continue to bless you both!

Hey Megann,
I'm keeping up with you through your mom and this web. Hang in there. You have not walked this journey alone. We truly do understand what you are going through and the uncertainties you are facing. I want you to know that we are lifting you often in prayer. Tatia and I want you to know that even though this journey may seem long and hard, we have a God that is able to help you with each painful step of it. Don't ever give up. God loves you my sweet sister and at those times that you feel most alone, most frustrated, most confused, most angry and the like, He is lifting you to higher places beyond all compare. He has perfect plans for you. I know that it probably feels like life is out of your control right now, well it is!!!! Your job is to fight this cancer. Let everything else go. With everything in you, you need to just fight. Remember that living in you in an almighty savior who is able to overcome all the things of this world including the diseases, infirmities, and the like. It is by His stripes we are healed, so you claim that healing everyday. Reach out to Jesus in your prayer and touch the "hem of his garment" there and visualize Him telling you "daughter your faith has healed you." He has EVERYTHING you need, just surrender yourself to Him and let Him guide and work. I love you sweet sister and I'm here to lift you up in prayer and hopefully help carry some of the burden for you. Whenever you feel overwhelmed on this journey remember that Tatia has walked it for almost 5 years, and no doctor here thought that was possible, but then again, I guess they didn't take the time to consider who we went to for our second opinion.... the Great Physician.... Jehovah Ropha. He is your God too, Your healer too, and we chose to believe that He has a big plan for you too. Hang in there! You are not alone. We love you, Tatia Day and Lisa Minton

Dear Megann,
We are praying that God will make you constantly aware of His presence and love. We pray that He will fill you with His strength to endure both physically and emotionally each day. We pray that He will fill you to overflowing with peace and confidence in His plan for you and that you will be able to find joy in the midst of all this pain and worry. Of course, we pray that He will heal you completely and use you to glorify Him for many years to come. The following is from Psalm 116:1-7--
I love the Lord, for he heard my voice;
he heard my cry for mercy.
Because he turned his ear to me,
I will call on him as long as I live.
The cords of death entangled me,
the anguish of the grave came upon me;
I was overcome by trouble and sorrow.
Then I called on the name of the Lord:
"O Lord, save me!"
The Lord is graccious and righteous;
our God is full of compassion.
The Lord protects the simplehearted;
wehn I was in great need, he saved me.
Be at reast once more, O my soul,
for the Lord has been good to you.

Good morning Megann and family,
Just wanted to let you know that you are loved this morning. God showed you with the rising of the sun, the singing of the birds, and the blooming of the flowers. "The heavens declare the glory of God and the skies the work of His hands." Psalm 19:1 As you look up at the beautiful sky today, as you feel the warmth of the sun on your face, as you see the brightness of each flower, as you hear the birds sing, remember that "you are not to worry' like Matthew tells us. God is taking care of you like He is the beauty of all of those things that surround you. You are not alone. He is carrying you, loving you, and He's showing you He has it all under control... just look outside and see!!! We love you!!!

Hey Megan, my patriotic star from Bunco will continue to be out and visible long after the July month is over. I think of you guys daily and continue to pray for healing. I know you have been pretty tired, just hang in there. David's sister sends her thoughts your way (from Nacogdoches)and is holding you up in prayer. She begins radiation this week and gives credit to you for her courage to make it through the chemo she had to endure. It is amazing what a little encouragement (as well as what to expect) can do...even from a total stranger! We love you guys.

Well, it's us again. Today I thought you might need a smile so I'm sending you some important things learned from little kids:
(1) When your dad is mad & asks you, "Do I look stupid?", don't answer.(2)When you get a bad grade in school, show it to your Mom when she's on the phone. (3)Never try to baptize a cat. (4)Don't pick on your sister when she's holding a baseball bat. (5) Never tell your Mom her diet is not working. (6)Never spit on a roller coaster. (7)Remember, you're never too old to hold your father's hand.
I especially like the last one. You have an earthly father that is always there for you and a Heavenly Father who leads you when you don't know which way to turn. Hold to their hands!
Love you & are praying for you,
Gerald & Charlene Brooks

Megann,
I am praying for you and your family everyday and I know that God is going to heal you. You are in my thoughts and prayers always. In looking back at our childhood together I think of all the funny things we did around the neighborhood as children - like barging in on our our neighbors, scaring Linda Tate's housekeeper, teaching school to all the neighbor kids, lemonade stands, playing war with Jeff and Craig, etc...and how carefree our lives were back then. You have always been a role model to me since childhood and you have always been such a strong person. I know that God has a plan for you and that he will give you the strength and courage to get throught this obstacle. Stay positive and know that you are not in this alone. If there is ANYTHING my family and I can help you or Jon with please let me know.
Love and Prayers,

Hi Megann,
Hope you are having a good day and feeling strengthened by the prayers being offered up for you. I sent your mom my sisters website from "big fighting" time at MD Anderson. It has a lot of info. and it has diaries that I wrote about what her life was like everyday during the "heart" of her journey, like you are on now. I hope it encourages you and helps you see that we truly do understand. You really are in our thoughts and prayers daily and every time you come to mind, I pray. I know that not only can you fight this, but you can beat it!! Inside of you lives an awesome savior who understands and can and will equip you with everything you need. His spirit will help you endure the tough stuff, he understands it all to well. Just lean on His understanding..He will give you strength. May you find Jesus in a way you never have before today, may you feel His comforting arms hold you close, and may you have the vision to see that He truly shares in your suffering and He is walking you through it. Remember... you are never alone!!! We love you!

Sweet Little Megan,
We just heard about your illness through a friend of your mom's. It's so hard to believe that this is happening to you, but we know that God will bring you through this. This is a scary time for you and your family, but God is in control and he will give you the strength and stamina you need to get through this. I've never met a stronger person than you are, so with your faith, strength and God's healing power, I know that you are going to be healed. I'll never forget the first time we saw you on the day we moved to DeSoto...marching in our back door asking us who we were and what we were doing there. Quite a determined young lady even at age 5.
We will pray for you for strength and healing. We will pray for your doctors that they will be guided to the right course of treatment and that God will lead them. We will pray for your husband and family for faith, comfort and strength. We will pray for all of you that you will feel God's loving arms surrounding you. I KNOW that our prayers will be answered.

We love you,
John & Dorinda Sims

Hey Megann,
Hope you are having a great day. May you feel the warmth and embrace of your heavenly Father holding you close today. I thought of you yesterday when I was driving down the road jamming to Avalon. (I'm sure everyone around was laughing) I was singing with this beautiful song. It is a song about the presence of God in our lives... I thought that it might encourage you... It is called "You were there". The song goes like this.....

I wonder how it must have felt
When David stood to face Goliath on a hill
I imagine that he shook with all his might
Until You took his hand, and held on tight

'Cause You were there, You were there
In the midst of danger's snare
You were there, You were there always
You were there when the hardest fight
Seemed so out of reach
Oh, You were there, You were always there
You were always there

So there he stood upon that hill
Abraham with knife in hand was poised to kill
But God in all his sovereignty had bigger plans
And just in time, You brought a lamb

'Cause You were there,
You were there
In the midst of the unclear
You were there, you were there always
You were there when obedience
Seemed to not make sense
You were there, You were always there
You were always there

So haven't I learned that my ways
Aren't as high as Yours are
And You alone keep the universe
From crumbling into dust
You are God and though we would
Not have understood You
There You were

Hanging blameless on a cross
You would rather die than leave us in the dark
Every moment, every planned coincidence
Just all makes sense
With Your last breath

You were there, You were there
During history's darkest hour
You were there, You were there always
You were the Victor and the King
You were the power in David's swing
You were the calm in Abraham
You are the God who understands
You are the strength when we have none
You are the living, Holy one
You were, You are and You will always be
the Risen Lamb of God

You were, You are and You will always be
The Risen Lamb of God

Megann, don't forget that through it all God is there with you carrying you through. When things don't make sense, when the pain hurts, when life seems so unfair, when you have no strength left, when the battle seems lost, when the days seem endlessly hard.... God is there at every step and He is blessing you with everything you need to make it through. He IS there for you and He always will be. In the lyrics it says "YOU WERE THERE WHEN THE HARDEST FIGHT SEEMED SO OUT OF REACH"... well, NOTHING is too hard for God, so keep reaching up to Him. He will take care of you... just like with Abraham at just the right moment, he sent a lamb... at just the right moment, He will send you just what you need... Hang on... He is there!!!!

Hey Megann,
Me again... just wanted to let you know that I lifted you in prayer today. We had a special song service at church tonight and spent some special time in praise. I thought often of you when singing the words of many songs. Every time it mentioned healing I prayed for you and my sister. I know that the battle in your mind in something like this is overwhelming... (I think thats why God says.."take every thought captive"..) I just want to remind you that we have a BIG God. He is able to do "immeasurably more" than all we can think, imagine, or fathom. Whenever that battle starts brewing in your mind just tell God that you believe in His power and that you choose to accept His "immeasurably more". He has so much to offer you sweet sister... all the peace, comfort, strength, patience, mercy, and grace you need... you think it.. He has it. He's like the best convenience store ever, just waiting to give you just what you need in a hurry! Don't lose hope, never forget how BIG our God really is. He is watching over you, loving you, and I chose to believe that He is reaching down inside of that "inmost being" part that He created in you and He is healing. Can you feel it.....imagine it, embrace it, live it!!! Have a restful sweet night... I love ya, Lisa

Wow! I am so inspired by reading your comments from some incredible prayer warriors! I have no profound words except that I love you, care about you, and am definitely praying. One of my favorite scriptures that I claimed during really hard times is Isaiah 40:28-31--"Have you not known?Have you not heard? The everlasing God, the Lord, The Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither faints nor is weary. His understaning is unsearchable. He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly, But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint." I hope you can draw strength from reading this! Love you, Debbie
