Today, our precious Megann lost her battle with ovarian cancer and won her eternal crown. She left this world to join her Heavenly Father in a place where there is no pain or suffering. God bless you, sweet Megann. We long for the day when we will see you again.

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing."

Megann has blessed me in so many ways that I can't even began to explain. She has made me a better teacher. She's taught me organization, working things out together and trusting the Lord. She's in a better place, and I will always remember her walking quickly down the hallway at school because she was always in a hurry to get to her job, and she was wonderful at it. She's been an inspiration to us all!

Love,
Evie

At times like these, it makes us glad to be Christians! I am so glad that Megann will be sharing the rest of her life with Jesus. I feel like she will be calling us all together soon to tell us what it's like in heaven. She touched my life, and sadly, she will never know that. I am praying for all her family and especially Jon. Thank you Megann, for being such a fighter, and showing us what it means to give it your all.

I wonder how many angels Megann has already met in Heaven? I bet anything that she already knows everyone by name and has already started a temporary Bunco group that she can play with until we get to play with her again! She was the MOST friendliest person I have ever met. I will miss her great sense of humor and the tons of laughs that we have enjoyed over the last couple of years. Megann, I admire and already miss you more than you will ever know. Please save me a spot at your table :) I love you!!

I never met Megann personally but heard about her a lot through her friend, Tammie S. Our family is praying for all of you who loved Megann and are missing her so much. I wish I could type some words to take the pain away but I can't. Just know that we are aching along with you and praying for you during this very difficult time! May God fill you with his comfort and peace.

Megann was a wonderful person who cared so much about her friends and family. She fought the good fight for so long and today she finally won. The Heavens rejoiced this morning when she entered those gates and asked what could she do to help! She was a truly sweet spirit that I loved and will miss.

Meagann was an amazing person, full of energy and love of life. I worked with her at Horace Mann in Shawnee. She was a great teacher, who gave her whole heart to the job. I remember her seemingly tireless energy and great contagious laugh. She has been an inspiration to me in the way she handled this terrible disease with courage and grace. My prayers go out to Jon and the rest of her family.

Megann and Jon were not in Shawnee very long but the time spent worshiping with us at the Northridge congregation is well remembered. There have been many emotional times reading these pages and following the course of her struggles. Her place in heaven is well secured and the life she led serves as a wonderful inspiration for young and old. Our prayers are with the families. God bless you all.

Although I did not personally know Megann or Jon they were often in my prayers. I checked the blog often to see how things were and today I was saddened to hear that she had passed away. Yet, from what I read of her she is the lucky one. Free from pain and sadness. My prayers now are for Jon and her parents/family who I know will miss her forever on this earth with them. But, they will be together again and be together longer than they will ever be apart. In Christ, Lynn

We always hope for a healing here on Earth for our loved ones that we hold so dear, because we can't imagine life without them. Sometimes God chooses a different kind of healing-the ultimate healing! Megann will be missed, but we will always hold a part of her with us and be glad in Christ Jesus that, as Christians, we will see her again and hear her laugh once again!

Megann was my daughters 1st and 2nd grade teacher. The first time my daughter met her, she told me that she liked her because she was pretty. Nicki loved her from that moment on. To this day, with Nicki in 6th grade, Mrs. Shepard is her favorite teacher. She will always be remembered as a wonderful and pretty teacher. She will be truly missed by all.
